This year was a little bit harder for him. I get into the habit of being neurotic and telling him something that I want over and over until he gets mad at me. Then once I get it I'm happy because I wanted it, but a little sad because I'm not as surprised. Well, this year he gave a little complaint that I'm sure 99% of most guys do. "Girls expect to much from us." "There's too much pressure!" "I hate valentines day!" I would have expected it from others, but not from my husband when he did so stellar last year! So, I did what I normally do for holidays or my birthday, I give him a list. A very detailed list. Down to what flower I wanted in my bouquet (baby's breath).
When I got home from work I knew I had a few hours before Forrest got home, so I turned on some Pretty Little Liars and got to work cleaning up the apartment. I knew that he would have wanted to do it as a suprise, but it would have been hard to leave the house for a couple of hours to give him the chance when I would have known what for. So I just did it... Happy valentines Forrest :)
Eventually he came home while I was getting ready for our dinner date in the room. When he said I could come out I saw my wonderful gifts! He got me a complete collection of Jane Austen novels (I've gotten really into reading lately, it was one of the many new years resolutions), coffee ice cream (I'm always looking for a reason to spend a ton of money on Hagen Das coffee ice cream because it's my weakness), chocolates, and my baby's breath bouquet! It was everything I wanted. Even though I gave him the list, I'm still happy he delivered. We went to Jaker's for dinner, which is a fancy bar and grill in Idaho Falls. It was so yummy! It was pretty expensive (for us) but it was worth it to dress up and eat out for one night.
It was a good Valentine's Day. I got to spend it with my love, and remember why I love him so much!
This is the handmade card I gave him (as well as a free massage and a gift card to spend wherever
